Family Literacy Summer Field Trips

Every summer The Family Literacy students are able to go on weekly field trips with their children and teachers to different places in the community. This year scheduled field trips include the MLK Library and the National Botanic Gardens. The main goal of the Family Literacy field trips is to help participants learn about different places where they can bring their children and sped quality time together learning without having to spend money.

Below some pictures from our first field trip to the Botanic Gardens. Everyone loved the experience, mostly children that were able to water plants and play with water. For some of our adult students that was the first time at the gardens. From one of our students: "I'm so happy we came here, now I know how to get here and I can come back again with my daughter!".
